If the past few years have left you feeling less than optimal; physically or mentally, then this yoga focussed retreat is for you. Take this unique opportunity to recharge in an exquisite location, immersing yourself in holistic practices incorporating the mind, body and spirit.
This retreat is a balanced weekend that includes both movement and relaxation. You will have the chance to move as much (or as little!) as you wish. Workshops will also include various meditation and pranayama techniques to ensure you go home with new tools in your toolkit. The weekend is structured to include the time and space to let go in a safe and supportive environment.
Set in a beautiful private Victorian country house in the stunning Scottish Borders, the estate is normally reserved solely for bespoke retreats. These limited open weekends are a special chance to sample all that Woll Estate Retreats has to offer. You will have the opportunity to rediscover who you are, on and off the mat. Suitable for men and women, and all levels of practice, this is your opportunity to say hello again to those long lost friends: balance and joy!
Hosted by Samantha, an E-RYT500 and also the owner of the estate, these retreats will help you rediscover your balance and develop practices that help you to thrive. Each movement session is a complete practice, meaning we’ll spend time with the breath, time in meditation as well as moving through physical asanas. In addition, during a dedicated mindfulness session we’ll specifically explore breath techniques and meditation practices to help you re-find your emotional equilibrium. You’ll go home with simple tools to incorporate into your daily life which will allow you to continue to cultivate vibrancy and joy when you’re back in the real world.
What’s Included
After arrival you will have the opportunity to settle in, meet your fellow guests over afternoon tea and relax before your first workshop.
Each morning, there will be a 2.5 hour workshop incorporating lecture and a balanced asana practice, a seated meditation and a guided relaxation. Each session is designed to get your body moving and put a smile on your face for the day. More challenging options are provided for the more experienced yogi, modifications are offered if you’re just starting your journey.
On Saturday, after a 2 course brunch, there will be an optional guided walk and wild
swim.
Throughout the weekend, we offer plenty of free time to allow you to relax in the infrared sauna or hot tub, to chat with new friends or to just be. You can curl up with a book in the library, take a walk in our private woods or sit on the deck overlooking the valley and allow the peace to settle in. An onsite masseuse is also available for anyone wishing to book a pampering and relaxing treat.
In the evenings, there will be a workshop with both lecture and practice, followed by a 2 course dinner with ample time to relax again. Everything designed to help you re-find your balance and get your body and mind calm for a fantastic night’s sleep.
Our private chef, Delia, aka The Jammy Cook, will be providing all your food. Delia and I are both “foodies” so every dish is designed to tickle your taste buds and ensures that the food is an important part of your retreat. Curated to nourish both your body and your soul, all meals are designed to put a smile on your face and a “mmmmm” in your mouth! Meals will be vegetarian and we use locally sourced fresh produce wherever possible. Unlimited tea, herbal tea and coffee is also included. In the morning, a selection of fresh fruit, bread or croissants will be available alongside juice, tea and coffee for anyone not wishing to practice on an empty stomach.

- 12:00 onwards – Brunch followed by relaxation time

- 19:00 onwards – Dinner and own relaxation time
Day 3:
- 09:00 – 12:00 – Workshop 4
- 12:30 onwards – Brunch and own relaxation time
- 15:00 onwards – Departure
The Venue
Built in 1874, Woll House is a Victorian mansion house with original features. Accommodation comprises 6 private twin or superking bedrooms each with either an ensuite bathroom or a private bathroom located adjacent to the bedroom. In addition to the yoga studio and separate pilates studio, there is a gym with a treadmill, weight bench and weights, mini-trampoline, and a rowing machine which guests are welcome to use. If you’d prefer to relax, (yes, yes, yes) in addition to the infrared sauna and hot tub, there is an extensive library with an open fireplace as well as plenty of room in the drawing room to curl up in front of the fire. Outside, Woll House Estate comprises over 100 acres of private woodlands and fields that you’re welcome to explore at your leisure. Or if you prefer, you can simply sit on the deck with a book and enjoy the views over the open Scottish countryside. Woll House is nestled in beautiful countryside and provides an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity that will perfectly complement this exclusive weekend.

The Teacher
Samantha, your host and the owner of the estate, is an E-RYT500 certified instructor and one of the few UK based certified Yoga Trapeze instructors. I have been fortunate enough to complete trainings with some exceptional yogis including Dice Iida-Klein, Briohny Smyth, Dylan Werner, Jason Crandell, Claudine Lafond, Mackenzie Miller, Mathieu Boldron, Tiffany Cruickshank, Kathryn Budig and Daniel Scott.
In addition to my yoga qualifications, I am a fully certified Lolita’s Legacy Pilates Instructor in both mat and equipment pilates. My dedicated Pilates studio includes a Reformer, Tower, Chair, Spine Corrector as well as small equipment.
