Yoga at Woll Estate Retreats

Offering yoga and pilates, Samantha brings a sense of playfulness to her classes.

Whether it’s a fast paced vinyasa flow class, designed to make you sweat or a restorative session to help you ground, relax and deeply restore or simply getting upside down in the trapeze, you’ll laugh as much as you work. In addition to my ongoing study of anatomy and myofascial release, I am an E-RYT500 certified instructor and one of the few UK based certified Yoga Trapeze instructors. I have been fortunate enough to personally train with some exceptional yogis including Dice Iida-Klein, Briohny Smyth, Dylan Werner, Jason Crandell, Claudine Lafond, Mackenzie Miller, Mathieu Boldron, Tiffany Cruickshank, Kathryn Budig and Daniel Scott.

In addition to my yoga qualifications, I am a fully certified Lolita’s Legacy Pilates Instructor in both mat and equipment pilates.  My dedicated Pilates studio includes a Reformer, Tower, Chair, Spine Corrector as well as small equipment.

I've just returned from the best Yoga retreat ever! Sam's classes were informative, challenging but totally inclusive. Suitable for all levels, from the physically challenged (me!) to the qualified yoga teacher (not me!). Just the right balance of technical input and physical practice. Set in the most beautiful environment offering peace and tranquility. Not forgetting 'THE' most delicious food, curtesy of Delia @jammycoo. If you get the opportunity to go, grab it with both hands.

Sam has helped me with injury prevention work in her yoga classes which has made me a better fighter & athlete. Her charisma is always warm and welcoming, as well as she has a great understanding of different capabilities which makes sessions more relaxed and you don’t get this pressure that you have to be strongest & the most flexible in the class.

After working with Sam I learned so much about how to safely increase my flexibility and increase weaknesses in my core strength that I did not know I had. Sessions are fun but challenging and all levels of fighters at our gym got nice improvements in flexibility and strength. Sam has this understanding that everyone is different and is good at improvising poses in classes to suit everyone.

Samantha's classes have a lovely collegiate feel to them.  We work hard, but in a convivial atmosphere. I always feel a sense of wellbeing after each class, which spurs me on to do other healthy activities in between. As a yoga virgin, desperately unfit and overweight, I was a little nervous but Sam’s enthusiasm and humour soon put me at ease and before I knew it I could touch my toes again and my waist line has reappeared. Have been to Yoga at a number of places but no one is as skilled or as sensitive to individual needs as Sam. It’s a wonderful combination of fun and hard work.

A magical experience! Anyone would get something out of it. I would recommend this for everyone, no matter what yoga level!

I arrived on the Friday expecting to learn a few yoga poses and hoping my level of fitness wouldn't be a burden to the class. Sam is an incredible teacher, with the ability to shine the light on people's strengths, lending an extra hand to those in need (taking injuries into account-creating alternative poses) and taking the time to make sure everyone understood the why and how of the poses/stretches. She had us doing crab poses by day 2! A lovely back stretch. The sessions were infused with friendliness and humour and by the end, a sense of accomplishment and contentment rang throughout the group.

Accommodation - the place is divine. Manages to look stately yet cosy/inviting at the same time. My bed was comfy, with handmade welcome truffles (from the jammy cook) and bathrobe laid out ready for sauna use.

Also available (for downtime): outdoor hot tub, indoor sauna and a library.

The food by Delia at The Jammy Cook was sensational. Each delicious mouthful helped make the retreat perfect. @jammycookdeliasurplice

I’ve just come back from one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long time. Sam is a truly wonderful host and the most incredible yoga teacher, catering for all levels and providing alternative options for those with injuries. The house and grounds of the estate are spectacular, especially when looking out from the hot tub on the terrace! The wild swimming was so refreshing too. If you’re thinking about going on a yoga retreat, make sure to book Woll estate retreats - you’ll never regret it. I see myself becoming a regular visitor from now on! Also huge thanks to Delia @jammycook who made us exquisite, yummy meals and treats that fuelled us for our yoga workshops.

Sam was very helpful and open minded with a goal to help me become a better fighter by helping me to open up the flexibility in my hips which I’ve had problem with the past 3 years. Now with the techniques she has taught me I can implement in my regular routines and for that I am deeply grateful of her help and her amazing positive attitude.

Sam made me aware of weaknesses in my core and how to strengthen the core muscles in a safe way. We had an intense month of yoga which greatly improved my body’s flexibility which improved my kicking in Muay Thai. She was very involved in our well being, trying to help in any way she could, sharing experiences about food, health, injuries and lifetime.
